FUTURE OF WORK IS NOT AI : IT’S PARTNERSHIP
BETWEEN AI AND HUMANS

AI, i.e., artificial intelligence, refers to a set of computer programs that have the ability to perform the same as humans, by far challenging the human brain’s complex problem-solving
behavior, human intelligence, and reasoning abilities, among other things.
AI makes the most complex task easy for humans with its software coded in such a way that the said task will look like it has been done by humans itself.
A very fine example of AI would be Tesla, which powers the self-driving features of their
automobiles with computer vision. We can see how Tesla used AI in such a way that humans
don’t need to drive the car manually. A simple location tells the car where the passenger wants to go, and it starts navigating through the lane and traffic and accordingly drives the passenger to its location.
Can AI in tech and Human’s constitute the workforce?
We often forget that human intelligence is limitless and is like a kite in the sky, and it is because of human intellect that we can access AI in such a way. However, the programs that are coded have certain particular parameters set by humans. So yes, technology and humans can constitute the work force. It is pertinent to note that the introduction of AI in technology has simplified the work of humans in an affirmative way; however, unrestricted access to tech or AI in the workforce can also lead to a disaster due to a lack of humanity and the nature of complexity that is only understandable by humans.
Ways in which AI and Humans work together?
AI and humans can work together in multiple ways, some of which are given below:
Analyzing data and inputs: to make the workload easy and doable, AI could be used in analyzing the large volume of target data, identifying bugs, and gathering other inputs as necessary that humans might overlook. The work of interpreting the same data could be done by humans, but due to the cryptic and bewildering nature of the data, requisite problem-solving skills will be required, which shall be done by humans only.
Assistance in Medicine: AI can assist the doctors or any other staff from the medical profession
by helping them reduce their diagnosis time by helping them analyze medical images and
identify any overlooked treatment or issue; however, applying the possible treatments and their able judgements shall be left to doctors due to the sensitivity and complexity of the human body and credibility.
AI and Education: AI could be used in the education system by catering to the children by
planning their schedule or academic timetable or by catering to personalized study plans.
However, it should be humans that impart the art of spreading knowledge to the child in terms of ethical upbringing in a social environment.
Public relations or customer service: AI could be used in analyzing the ongoing trend or coming up with personalized data for the customer based on their previous orders or habits by identifying a pattern, but the implementation or convincing a potential customer should be taken care of by humans only due to factors like emotional vulnerability, which AI cannot comprehend.
Ensuring co-existence of AI and Humans
1. Defining boundaries between AI and humans is important to ensure that roles and
responsibilities are maintained and divided in such a way that one does not overstep the other
and there is no collusion of any sort.
2. Accountability in AI’s delivered results should always be highlighted to project that following
the work or creation of an already programmed software, however, the human behind it should
be able to justify any positive or negative result and give an explanation to it.
3. Upgradation of AI from time to time is a need of the hour, just like how companies launch
new phones with different changes in the phones. Similarly, AI needs to be updated to catch up to the evergreen and changing society and its needs.
4. An environment towards learning different languages and methods of AI should be taught to
make simple tasks easier and save time. AI should not be perceived as all things bad, and a
brighter and more approachable side should be adopted to enhance productivity, which can
further result in a good outcome combining AI and human efforts.
In conclusion, for AI and humans to work together, there needs to be a collaborative approach
where both can coexist in a way that is not destructive to humans, both socially and
economically.
